It just hurts too much

I am in too much pain to post much right now. Chat away, btw the FMLA didn’t apply to my broken back – lung deal because I hadn’t worked where I work for a year at the time. I have now though.

Incidentally, I work in Texas, and there’s a reason companies locate facilities to Texas: they can pay shit wages and avoid all kinds of red tape that they’d might be subject to in states like California or New York. Texas is a Right to Work state, which is a pretty Orwellian term considering what it really means.

Really, really sorry to hear about the whole affair. Hoping you get some extra-good pain meds and can heal up quickly.

If at some point you feel passable enough to post a quick status update, please let us know whether they caught the thieves and/or whether anything was stolen that we can send you some fundage to help replace.

    …Shit.

Take care of yourself, and let us know if there’s anything we can do to help. Maybe there’s some use to be gotten out of me being in east Texas.

Don’t post then, just recover. We all know why you’re AFK.

I wonder if Texas also has that 1% “you’re lucky enough to be employed” tax like PA does.

I hope that you are feeling better soon.
Yeah, Texas was a pretty shitty place to teach, too.
After teaching there, I’m pro-union all the way, and we’ve decided that we will definitely retire in a state that has state taxes. They tend to take better care of their elderly citizens.

I won’t work in Texas unless I can be part of a union. Right to Work is actually, “Right to low pay, no benefits, and shitty hours.”
