Stephen Colbert comments on the traumatized reaction of a conservative who attended the St. Louis rally at which democratic socialist congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke and found herself disturbingly attracted to the progressive message that she heard.
As Colbert says, god is a socialist.
I have not been following this story closely but Samantha Bee gives some background on what it is all about.

I came across this moving and yet funny eulogy given by comedian Billy Crystal at the funeral of Muhammad Ali that I thought worth sharing. I hadn’t known that they were so close for so long.
Sacha Baron Cohen has a new TV series premiering on Showtime called Who Is America? in which he does his trademark shtick of pretending to be someone with views similar to the person he is interviewing and getting them to lower their guard and say what they really think. And what he reveals about gun rights advocates in the US in this 10—minute promotional video has to be seen to be believed.
It is always dangerous to take these kinds of videos at face value because by highly selective editing, one can make the target look ridiculous, appear to endorse views they do not hold, or look outright nuts. But I would like to see how the people shown on this video explain away or otherwise walk back the outrageous things they said.
As this Doonesbury comic strip shows, the Trump force is strong within the cult members. They are the ones that the Democratic party establishment is trying to woo with its ‘moderate’ and ‘centrist’ Republican-lite neoliberal message, rather than seeking out those who are disaffected with the system.
It is quite extraordinary how liberals will sign on to the notion of civility, even when that is used as a cover to not take strong public stands. Cartoonists Reuben Bolling and Tom Tomorrow take aim at his kind of advice.
