Sacha Baron Cohen makes a fool of Joe Arpaio

Former Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio who was pardoned by Donald Trump was the latest victim on Sacha Baron Cohen’s show.

The clip is not particularly funny but I am truly baffled by how it ended. What could possible have made Arpaio say those things? He has since tried to explain away his statements.

Last month, Arpaio was among the many prominent public figures who admitted they had been tricked by Baron Cohen, claiming that he became uncomfortable in the interview when the comedian started using words like “hand job” and “golden shower.” But it was hard to tell that from the segment that aired.

“I felt uncomfortable with some of the words they were using but I had to live through it,” Arpaio said of the experience. “I am not the type of guy who gets up and walks out. I never walked out in thousands of interviews. I just take it. I was kind of shocked. But I figured this is Finland and this is a famous comedian.” He added that he “signed some kind of contract before filming” but “did not read all the info.”

Contract or no contract is really not the point. It is also not a question of walking out. Why say those things at all?

And Baron Cohen gets an Alabama Republican to also say and do the most absurd things.

Joe Arpaio is already a fool -- Sacha Baron Cohen simply put it on display. I like this technique. It’s humiliating the targets with their own pride.

There must be something to the “Deep State” theory. The front-men for the Republicans clearly cannot tie their own shoelaces.

Then maybe you should re-evaluate your policy of stupid macho machismo (pronounced mah-cheese-moe in honor of Andrew Schlafly).
