The new right-wing crackpot governor of Virginia campaigned on abolishing the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) in the state’s public schools, among other ignorant, wrong and/or horrifying conservative “ideas.”

But what happened next is as amusing as it was predictable:

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s (R) tip line seeking reports of what he describes as “divisive practices” in schools — such as the teaching of critical race theory ― has been hit with fake complaints.
Qasim Rashid, a Virginia-based lawyer and former Democratic congressional candidate, tweeted some of the taunting messages that people claim to have sent to a dedicated email address after he sarcastically told followers not to “make a mockery of this.”
First Qasim Rashid tweeted this:
GOP VA Governor just set up a tip line to report schools & teachers who teach about racism.
Email: helpeducation@governor.virginia.gov
Whatever you do, don't make a mockery of this with fake tips. That would be a terrible thing to do. RT so everyone knows NOT to send fake tips.

Again, the email address to which you should ABSOLUTELY NOT send any helpful tips about “divisive practices” in Virgina’s public schools is helpeducation@governor.virginia.gov.

Singer-songwriter John Legend, meanwhile, urged Black parents to flood the Virginia line “with complaints about our history being silenced.”
Now I hate to disagree with Mr. Legend here, but if I had his platform’s reach I would be urging all parents – and particularly white parents – to flood the governor’s email with complaints about Black history being erased, whitewashed, de-emphasized or distorted through the lens of white supremacy, and add that No one in the United States can be considered “educated” about our country and its history until this topic is truthfully and thoroughly addressed.”
And I’d also urge these parents, and particularly white parents, to then email Gov. Whitey McWhiteperson again and write this: “Upon reflection, I’ve had second thoughts on this matter. I am deeply concerned – nay, outraged! – that all BIPOC peoples’ histories are being erased, whitewashed, de-emphasized or distorted through the lens of white supremacy. No one in the United States can be considered ‘educated’ about their country and its history until these topics are truthfully and thoroughly addressed.”

Algebra is distressing and very unAmerican. Some dirty A-rab with the imposable name Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi invented algebra. My 10 year old son got that from google. He is presous smart! It is an out rage my local high school is teachn algebra to our impressionable American children. They MUST NOT join Al Kada. At least in my town the evil evolution is illegal. My churches womans missionary society demands SOMETHING MUST BE DONE to end this algebra out rage. I called the police about this and they said no law was being broken. WE NEED A LAW TO END ALGEBRA! I prey to God Almighty in Heaven He will protect my son and all of Virginia from that evil
