    See, I told you that Silverman was capable of producing reasonable, non-irritating, even humorous ads. I admit the evidence for this belief was slight, but I had faith that Dave could make a decent ad if he really put his mind to it.

    That’s the formulaic form of advertising that indicates scams and pseudo-science, so it’s easy to categorise the product they’re pushing heuristically.

    (Yes, obviously, enough people do click on those ads or they wouldn’t exist. But still!)
