Not that there was much doubt, but Romney seems to have sewed up the GOP nom, pulling ahead of all challengers with an insurmountable lead in delegates and sweeping DC, Maryland, and even Wisconsin last night: [Read more…]
Video below of what looks like a pretty stout, F3 to F4 funnel cloud, sweeping through the North Central Texas region abuot 100 miles north of where I stand. [Read more…]
At the heart of most galaxies lurks a black super giant, a massive black hole, usually about two percent of the mass of the entire galaxy it rules. These objects seemed to have evolved very early in the cosmos. Some are so energetic they can be seen powering quasars across billions of years of time and space. But scientists only know one way for a black-hole to form, and those objects have only a few solar masses. How do they get to a million or a billion times that? [Read more…]
There’s a reason I moved a thousand miles and took a low paying dead-end job: I used to live in Brevard County, a hop, skip, and jump away from the Kennedy Space Center, I could watch shuttle launches from my yard. A Ron Paul supporter put Mittens in the hot seat on a religious question pertaining to an obscure treatise/add on to the Book of Mormon. Unsurprisingly, Romney punted, avoiding the issue by claiming — somewhat laughably considering he’s running for Pastor in Chief of the Fundamentalist Party — that he wasn’t going to have a discussion on religion: [Read more…]
Yet another unrelated isolated home-grown terrorist incident:
CBS News) — Authorities say someone placed the small device on an outside window sill about 7:40 p.m. Sunday at the clinic in Grand Chute, near Appleton. Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin CEO Teri Huyck said in a statement that there was minimal damage to an exam room and that the clinic will reopen Tuesday. No one was in the building at the time.
The freakiest arm of the religious right just could not help themselves. Like the scorpion riding the frog, they knew — or were certainly told — scapegoating women as whores and sluts would hurt their own interests, but they did it anyway and they continue to do it. Now the bill is starting to come due: [Read more…]
