To stay in line with my current series, this daily bird is one of the many bird shoots from the camp site. The stable of the mini farm is home to a colony of barn swallows, which constantly frustrated me in my attempts to take pictures.
They would mostly circle the vicinity of the farm during the day, but in the evening, when the pool was closed, they would come for a drink, despite the water being slightly salty. Sorry for the poor quality. The light was low, the birds were fast and the big lense starts at a 5.6 shutter, so the ISO was pretty high.

Giliell try not to let the perfect get in the way of jolly good, the last one especially is beautiful

Ah, who cares about high ISO when the photos are so much fun. #4 in particular is making me laugh, that has to be the funniest flight pose ever caught on camera.

You have photo #4, “whoops I tripped over that banana peel”, and then you have photo #7, which is just sublime.

I can attest to the fact that swallows are hard to shoot photos of… we had a colony of cliff swallows that colonized our house (around the outside, up by the eaves) this year and I tried and tried to shoot good photos. Very hard. Yours are terrific; I love that lost one.

Wonderful shots!
Every morning, about an houir after sunrise, I have a few swallows flying just above the crops and only a few metres next to me when I cycle through the fieldways. Totally awesome sight but impossible to catch with a smartphone.

Oh, I’m not beating myself up over the pics. I know what equipment and time go into those “bird photo of the year” shots, so i think that for me, my camera and an evening, I did pretty well.
They still drove me mad.
Seagulls now, there’s a bird that is cooperative

Dynamic shots, to put it mildly, they seem to do their drinking in high speed.

What a great series of shots. The last one is my favorite…calmly gliding as if all the kerfuffle of the previous shots never happened.
