One has to wonder who it was that thought of giving a section on the Herman Cain website over to purported female commenters voicing support for Cain against charges of harassment and infidelity, and if that person’s job will last the day. Because it devolved into a cesspool of trolls and hatred in about two minutes. Here’s a taste:
(TPM) — Dear Mrs. Cain, don’t pay attention to these pathetic husbandless women who are jealous of women like you in happy long-term marriages,” a supporter from California writes. “These vindictive women can’t find a husband or keep one. They are like stalkers who try to latch on to any man who shows a bit of kindness or attention to them.
I predict it gets a lot worse before it gets any better. On the other hand if Cain knows he’s never going to get the nom, and this is about setting up to fleece the least educated, misogynist leaning portion of the GOP rump — alongside Gingrich — it might turn to be an OK move.
Sadly I’ve little doubt that comment was written by a woman, particularly a conservative woman who feels the most important accomplishment another woman can achieve is getting a husband.
