Decks

Have a friendly set of caricatures, for purposes of comparison. Crispian Jago’s deck of “Skeptic” cards from 2011. (Some of the people in the deck don’t fit the category very well – Dennett, Aaronovitch, Grayling, Hitchens, Peter Singer, Andrew Copson – they’re not primarily skeptics, not professional Skeptics.)

The caricatures are done by Neil Davies.

Here’s Anthony Grayling:

Whoa…the caricature is even recognizable. Doesn’t Jago know they aren’t supposed to look anything like their targets?

And there’s a PZ Meyers card, too. ‘Worthy adversary sought, fundamentally dishonest ID peddlers and creationists need not apply.’ Sounds about right.

    Michio Cuckoo?!? A skeptic?!

Ironic to see Dunning there still. And Grothe. And Radford … What a difference a few years make.

Perhaps we could put Jimmy Carr next to Stephen Fry. There could be room for Paul Merton, too. And even Ian Hislop.

Dawkins doesn’t know his own movement very well, does he. But I don’t really think it’s good enough to play the aloof professor and claim ignorance about what people get up to in his name or with his presumed or implicated approval.
Anyway, it’s a statement that was needed, and it will make a few MRA heads explode, so that’s good.

Sorry wrong thread lol. Just wanted to say that PZ seems to suffer from Mumps on his card.
