    I hate all the advertising and other blather over 14 February. The only flowers I buy for Valentine’s day are for my wife’s grave.

    I’d rather observe Lupercalia.

    Using the colon isn’t completely reliable for non-participation in evolution purposes, though…

    Generally, yes, though I’ve heard arguments for why you should always even in a monogamous relationship with an uninfected partner, and they were always painfully, cringibly specious.
