The way I heard it, his plane is taking off from Andrews Air Force Base at 8am Eastern, which is just 8 minutes from now as I write this.
He’s gotta be at the airfield now. So it seems to me that he’s already gone from the White House even if there’s some cleaning/smudging left to do.
Oops. Apparently 8am was when the chopper was picking him up to go to Andrews, not the time when the plane left Andrews.
Still, he is now officially out of the White House.
I read where there will be super deep clean due to Covid before the Bidens move in.
He’s at Joint Base Andrews bragging about his “accomplishments” to his kids, grand kids, and a few others. He got one last “Hail to the Chief” and his 21 gun salute.
Some a-hole Republicans in the House and Senate are already complaining about Biden’s plans to undo T####’s legacy. Nothing much has changed.
I’m in Oztralia. It will be 2am. I’m waiting with baited breath for this worst part to be over.
The nice thing about living in the Mountain time zone is that this nightmare will be over at 9am.

The champagne is on ice, the port is ready, and it will be (my local time) dinner-time with much feasting.First (minor…it’s been done by almost all incoming presidents) disappointment… Not only did Biden add “…so help be God.” to the end of the oath of office, but Roberts prompted it.

@whheydt: It’s been a long, long time since we had a president who belonged to a sect that didn’t allow for the swearing of oaths, but only the affirmation of oaths. Though now I wonder, did Nixon swear, or affirm, since he was a Quaker?

I asked this once before, but what is the very effective thing that you are doing that makes you “authentic” and not “pseudo”? And I don’t know whether you’re American or not, but you really do spend an awful lot of time talking about how other people are all talk.
Are they really sure the White House was fully vacated? What are the odds they find Riff Raff lurking in a closet? In flagrante delicto, no less.

In addition to the traditional change of decor that accompanies the new management, the GSA is steaming and disinfecting every object and surface in the White House right now. Im guessing there are plenty of staff who are jubilant they will no longer have to remove spray tan stains.

Statistically speaking that’s a real achievement. Coupled with the grass roots efforts to seat more women and non-white people in elected office, which have been ongoing since the Women’s March, I think the liberal progressives have done a good job of pushing that Overton window to the left.
