The labor abuse in the slaughterhouse/meatpacking industry is so bad that Human Rights Watch issued its first-ever report on a US industry on that industry.

Glad you’re eating a vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner, PZ, but please remember that dairy and eggs also involve horrendous labor and animal abuse.
I’m sure glad this never happens to those picking crops.
