Dawkins is, of course, totally right that this security theater has gotten really insane, and while one white guy’s jar of honey doesn’t really matter, it’s symbolic of a bigger problem.
But turnabout being fair play and all… Dear Muslimo indeed 🙂
I wonder if it has anything to do with the kind of unscientific, anti-Muslim silliness that’s been flying around for the last decade and then some. For instance, I heard of some kind of scientist actually claiming that the disparity between Nobel Prizes awarded to Muslims and those awarded to Trinity College alumni means something or other besides that the scientist in question doesn’t understand some very basic concepts regarding experimental design and statistical inference.
Anyway, I’m glad to see that the Professor is learning that fearmongering has repercussions besides increasing book sales.

Yeah, no. None of the FTBullies/Skepchicks have done anything remotely like that–at least not that I have seen. Dawkins said something mockable. The hypocrisy of what he tweeted, given his past conduct, was robustly lampooned. This is very, VERY different from using his stupid tweet as an opportunity to attack his sexuality, or his attractiveness, or to debase him as a human being, or to threaten him for saying something so ridiculous.
Further, this was a weekend distraction. I think it’s already over. If there are ugly little cartoons of Dawkie the Pooh popping up on Facebook TWO YEARS from now, then do let’s revisit these comparisons with the Slymepit. Until then, it just doesn’t wash.
Seriously Silentbob why did you say that? Why are you suggesting that anyone would photoshop Dawkins into some porn dripping with honey instead of semen, or that I would repost it if anyone did? Why are you pretending Heina’s joke is comparable to that? Or a short step away from that?
And yes, Rly. Are you saying this post is comparable to a rant about how sexually physically aesthetically disgusting someone (in this case Dawkins) is? You seem to be saying that, so why are you? Why are you saying this is like that?
