Paleoclimatologist extraordinaire Dr. Michael Mann will be in my home town of Austin next week. Mike has been invaluable again and again in helping me and dozens of other bloggers convey the subtleties of his field of study to thousands of readers over the years. In fact he and his cohorts created one of the first dedicated expert science blogs, Realclimate.
We’ll probably get together for a beer at some point on Tues or Weds. If you’re in Central Texas let me know below and I’ll keep you posted. I might need a ride home.

Tell Michael Mann thanks and keep up the good work from me. Tell him from me that most of us do appreciate and respect his work.
Oh & that I’ll shout him a beer or three myself if he ever comes down to Adelaide, South Australia!
After putting up with the death threats, lies and other rubbish from the Climate Deniers and watching this :

plus so much more happen and still having people refuse to acknowledge climatological reality; he sure deserves those drinks – and so do you.

I live in Round Rock, and have a class at St. Ed’s on S. Congress Tuesday afternoons. I’d be happy to be your designated driver, and I’d love to meet Dr. Mann. I’m majoring in Environmental Policy & Communications at St. Ed’s.
