It was a long week, made longer by the family of nocturnal elephants that seems to have moved in above me, only these few peaceful, precious hours early in the morning are my own these days. I need calm blue ocean. Ahhhh, yes, thank you Mr. Cross. Consider this an open thread.

Yeah, I had a long week too with committee review meetings and travel.
But what has got me frustrated is politics (as usual). I’m getting tired of simple political cartoons that don’t actually deal with the policies and issues that they claim to.
The most recent one was a elephant and donkey in a tub with water pouring in (labeled taxes) and the two arguing about decreasing the flow by two drops or one drop. While an understandable concern as it may appear to the people, they really are talking about very small changes in the tax income. The drawing really is meaningless without the giant pipe that is taking all that water/money away from the tub and dumping it into useful and (some) not-so useful places. The tub is draining much, much faster than the inflow.
So we get a political cartoon that is topic of discussion, but it makes fun with no point.
