Strikes me as rather racist, actually. All the passengers are rendered in a brownish blackface. It would have easier to draw them without those cartoonish mouths, and no harder to add different shapes of faces to break up the all-the-same-ness of the immigrants.
It really cheapens the impact. Was the dollup of racism necessary to get the point across? No. So why include it?
