Gang-raped by men accusing her of having extramarital sex

From Banda Aceh, Indonesia – sexual morality-policing via gang rape.

An Indonesian woman who was gang-raped by men accusing her of having extramarital sex may be caned publicly for violating Islamic law, an official said Wednesday.

The 25-year-old widow said she was raped by eight men who allegedly found her with a married man in her house. The men reportedly beat the man, doused the two with sewage, and then turned them over to Islamic police in conservative Aceh province.

No, the men reportedly beat the man, doused the two with sewage, gang-raped the woman, and then turned them over to Islamic police in conservative Aceh province.

What business was it of theirs what she was doing in her house? It may be the man’s wife’s business, but it’s not the business of anyone else.

The head of Islamic Shariah law in the district, Ibrahim Latief, said his office has recommended the widow and the married man be caned nine times for violating religious law, pending an investigation. Its preliminary finding was that the two were about to have sex at that time, but Latief contended they violated Shariah law by being in the same room together. He said they also admitted they had sex earlier.

But nobody violated Sharia by gang-raping the woman, beating the man, and dousing both of them with sewage? That’s all right is it? Any old passerby can punish people for sexual misdemeanors with extreme violence and abuse?

You’re doing it wrong.

I *will NOT* say what I really want to when I see stories like this…just ignore me while I hiss, spit and growl over here in the corner. Must NOT!

I will say tthat I think these so-called men are a complete and total waste if oxygen. To be very clear, I include both the attackers and the cretins sitting in judgement of her, in that statement.

Well, it’s their rules, isn’t it? Their rules say that adultery is a crime against god and society while rape, violence and torture are not. So men can commit almost any outrage as long as it’s not against the rules. Such fun! Morality trumps humanity, so let’s rape someone. To be honest, I feel such despair of my own sex that I am simply sick of it all. I don’t see how things will ever be better. Even if we end up with a world-wide society of considerate human beings it will still take us a million years of war and rape and cruelty before we reach it. Is it really possible to convert atheist chauvinists, MRA’s, religious conservatives and lunatics to anything approaching humanity? I know about people who refuse to listen, and there is nothing you can say to them. Sorry, I’m just having a moan. No, actually totally depressed. Be better sometime, possibly.

This happens all over the islamic world.

And it’s not a case of the generic “Religiousd conservatives” either.

Only in Islam and Islam alone are such moral inversions/obscentities permitted.

One of the extra-special snowflake aspects of Wahhabism is the insistence that ‘good’ muslims have a right/duty to punish ‘bad’ ones. To the point where a ‘good’ one can be judge jury and executioner, essentially on a whim. Because God, of course.

I don’t know how deeply Wahhabi/salafist/Muslim Brotherhood standards have infiltrated in Indonesia. But there agenda is to dominate the entire Islamic world, and thence the rest…

I am still waiting for a single ‘moderate Muslim’ to denounce stuff like this.
It would appear to me that such Muslims undoubtedly exist, but do not do so out of reluctance; that it might be taken as an attack on Islam: the source of their social identity and political clout.
