We’ve got similar vistas up here in Soviet Canuckistan. I recommend Lac des Arcs, an hour West of Calgary (a nearby cement plant sours the view, sadly), as well as Bow Lake by Num-Ti-Jah Lodge along the Icefields Parkway.
And while there’s no lake nearby to enliven the view, this stretch of highway is my favorite spot for mountain porn. You can hike for a kilometre from the nearby campground to earn a beautiful icefield and meadow vista.

I’ll check those out.
And, of course, good old Vancouver, just up the road from me, is no slouch. No slouch at all.
