Some state sponsors?

I wish I could find a better source for this story than Murdoch’s New York Post

After the 9/11 attacks, the public was told al Qaeda acted alone, with no state sponsors.

But the White House never let it see an entire section of Congress’ investigative report on 9/11 dealing with “specific sources of foreign support” for the 19 hijackers, 15 of whom were Saudi nationals.

It was kept secret and remains so today.

President Bush inexplicably censored 28 full pages of the 800-page report.

Not just redacted, not just covered with black lines, but blank pages where approximately 7,200 words should have been.

A pair of lawmakers who recently read the redacted portion say they are “absolutely shocked” at the level of foreign state involvement in the attacks.

Reps. Walter Jones (R-NC) and Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.) can’t reveal the nation identified by it without violating federal law. So they’ve proposed Congress pass a resolution asking President Obama to declassify the entire 2002 report, “Joint Inquiry Into Intelligence Community Activities Before and After the Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001.”

Some information already has leaked from the classified section, which is based on both CIA and FBI documents, and it points back to Saudi Arabia, a presumed ally.

The Saudis deny any role in 9/11, but the CIA in one memo reportedly found “incontrovertible evidence” that Saudi government officials — not just wealthy Saudi hardliners, but high-level diplomats and intelligence officers employed by the kingdom — helped the hijackers both financially and logistically. The intelligence files cited in the report directly implicate the Saudi embassy in Washington and consulate in Los Angeles in the attacks, making 9/11 not just an act of terrorism, but an act of war.

Hmm. A few years ago when the Saudi king visited the British queen, Jack Straw talked some emetic garbage about our shared values. Hmm.

This seems like the best article I could find. It quotes Rep. Lynch pretty extensively. Interestingly, there’s not much out there on this, and most of the references I’ve found have been Murdoch and/or right-wing sites. There definitely are 28 pages redacted, and there definitely have been reports that those pages detailed links to Saudi government and royal family members. The linked article also gives a quote from former Sen. Graham basically confirming that. Also interestingly, Lynch’s major concern seems to be for foreign policy going forward.

Thanks for that, Mya. (I think I saw that link when I searched yesterday but didn’t recognize the name so didn’t click. I was looking for major media coverage.)

How extremely odd that this is being mostly ignored.

I think there is an important story here, but I would like to see some reporting from major sources as well.

Also just a note, the articles linked in 1 and 4 were written by the same person, Jamie Reno, about whom I didn’t learn much from a quick google search.

There’s enough here that something smells fishy. And the report should definitely be declassified. I’d like to see some kind of policy where it only takes signatures from 2 or 3 members of congress to declassify something; after all what is the point of allowing them to review it in camera if they aren’t allowed to tell anyone about it.

    1) A few of the people on the Commission into 9/11 have since said publicly that their investigation was a crock.

    2) Even without this evidence, the fact the only Saudis were allowed to fly out of Amerika immediately after 9/11 tells you all you really need to know about ‘THE INVESTIGATION’

    3) Please read up on Sibel Edmonds and in particular read a book by Susan Lindauer called ‘Extreme Prejudice’, it tells you all you really need to know about the investigation into TWA800, Iraq, Lockerbie Bombing and in particular, the fore-warnings of 9/11. The book ‘Extreme Prejudice’ shows the extent to which a criminally corrupt government will go to to silence someone.

I also like to point out that:

    1) One lovelly Saudi is referred to as Bandar Bush.
    2) There was no evidence on the stock market of fore knowledge, but just in case we deleted all the evidence.
    3) Fema just happened to be in New York on the same day, nice coincidence.
    4) Americas Air Foce just happened to be practicing for terrorist attacks on….. well can you guess which particular day, nice coincidence.
5 NYCAN (http://nyccan.org/) petitioned the state of New York to open a proper investigation. The State used to everything in its play book to quash the will of the people of New York.
    6) I’d love to see the wording of the legal documents people signed for the deaths of loved ones on those days. I bet there is some interesting wording…….

And finally, its time The UN and the ICC took on the investigation into 9/11.
