Three long-term holds at the library all just turned up at once (long-term as in there are a lot of people on the list ahead of you).
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson
Delusions of Gender by Cordelia Fine.
Rubs hands with glee.
(I know, very horse-and-buggy. But I still like books.)

I like books too. I hear once upon a time they used to put them on trees! How quaint.

It took that long to get American Gods? It was released a long time ago. I know I was listening to it on audiobook in 2008.
No, don’t give me crap, people, about listening to audiobooks. You try working data entry without them.

I love books too, especially love when I get my holds all at once! Although if I can find a book on CD narrated by someone interesting, that is also awesome; it helps me with my insomnia, and depending on who’s narrating, helps put me right to sleep. Cordelia Fine’s book is quite excellent, I’ve referred it to others and they’ve enjoyed it immensely.

American Gods is one of my favorite books around. It’s “sequal”, Anasi Boys is good as well.

American Gods is wonderful
And I love books. There’s something erotic in the existence of real paper-books.

I recommend Gaimain’s Sandman comics series over American Gods. Some characters from Sandman make appearances in the latter, apparently. (I read AG first, by several years, so I’m not sure which ones, besides Bast.)

It probably wouldn’t have taken that long to get American Gods if I had realized it had been re-issued in a 10th anniversary edition (which is longer than the original). I thought it was new, and put a hold on the first item on the list; probably farther down there were holdless copies of the 2001 edition.

American Gods is possibly my favorite book. Possibly. But catch me on a different day…
Anyway, enjoy.

I can just see my data set full of Gaiman prose. Data entry and I require non verbal music.

And once you are done with sandman – follow it with Lucifer.

Enjoy Delusions of Gender, I read that earlier this year and it rocked my world.
