Trump keeps saying, contrary to all evidence, that we are turning the corner in dealing with covid-19.
Yes, indeed. We have turned the corner and are headed downhill at breakneck speed.
Our present “corner” is an upward surge on the infection/mortality charts, but that doesn’t match any appropriate metaphors I can think of.
I think Trump meant to say “coroner.”
