On our way to a nation where thugs and idiots rule

moransThe rising anti-government sentiment in the US is spiraling out of control The Republican party is whipping it up in order to stymie any of president Obama’s initiatives but they run the real risk of these sentiments resulting in a lawless nation in which people feel entitled to break the law because they think that powerful segments of the government approve of such actions and that they will protect them from repercussions. I have written before about how such things can easily lead to mob violence.

We already see the signs of dangerous lawlessness with rancher Clive Bundy defying the government and not paying the fees that all other ranchers pay, and seemingly getting away with it. We also see a trend in which any government policy, even if it is for the collective good, is seen as evil and must be countered. One would think that clean air and clean water would be something that everyone would support. But we now have the phenomenon of ‘rolling coal’, where people deliberately put noxious fumes into the air, and are willing to pay a lot to do it even if the dirty air is something they themselves breathe, just to spite those who advocate for clean air. What next, people deliberately contaminating the public water supplies? It would not surprise me in the least.

Take a look at what these people are doing. These are the kinds of people the Republican party is pandering to.

Yesterday’s jackbooted thugs are today’s anarchists. Go figure.
Although I can see where this might be headed if they were to regain full control; the anarchy and havoc they wreak on all of us will be the justification for an authoritarian crackdown on the “lawlessness”. Ultimately it has little to do with freedom and everything to do with control and entitlement to do what they will without consequence.

These people are everywhere. I see them all the time when I am in upstate New York. Oh, the adjectives I could use to describe them! Proudly ignorant, racist, xenophobic, suspicious, unfriendly, spiteful, resentful, obnoxious. These are people whose maturity level never advanced beyond the angry fifteen year old stage. They worship cheap beer and cigarettes, NASCAR, American flags, and anything with a motor (and resent anything propelled by a human being or the wind (kayaks, sailboats, bicycles, etc.)). The catch-all term I use is “redneck”. Sadly, they raise their kids to be just like they are, impeding them from ever escaping the wretched lives their parents lead. The poverty rate is high, and they will blame the Democrats. They live in trailer parks, fulfilling the American Dream by owning a residence designed to be towed from place to place…. Many are on welfare, but they loathe people who are on welfare (like those urban (read: black) folk who are just lazy, while the white poor folk are victims of the latte-sipping liberals).
