    Botanical Wednesday: Ko’oloa ‘ula

I’m going to Hawaii next week, while snow is still on the ground here in Morris, so I have to think tropical.

(If you’re wondering, I’ll be attending and speaking at the West Coast Regional Meeting of the Society for Developmental Biology.)

So when Arizona firefighters get called to rescue a cat up a tree…

Earlier, I posted a photo of a saguaro — Rob Bartlett had to one-up me by sending me this photo of a saguaro+.

Botanical Wednesday: Just because it’s green

After a brief warming period, winter came rushing back last night with a couple of inches of wet sloppy snow…and my university has even cancelled morning classes (there goes my 8am physiology class). So here’s something I won’t see outside.
