I just got word that the Taiwan government is extending winter vacation for children.  Normally public schools would go back on February 17, but it’s being extended until Februarty 25 because of the coronavirus (9 cases in Taiwan) and a resurgence in H1N1 (13 confirmed deaths).

I have no word yet whether this applies to my school, a private academy.  I am scheduled to work tomorrow.

It makes me glad I stayed home during Chinese New Year, cleaning my apartment, writing and giving my ears and voice a rest.  I didn’t see another person for seven days.
