I’m Genteel Now

I’m so lady-like and kindly now that I ignore insults with a casual grace that is a marvel to behold.  Watch me lay delicately upon this divan, composing sonnets like a modern day Elizabeth Barrett Browning, while haters spend all their time obsessed with the things they despise.  When I’m done with this brief respite, it will be back to making merriment, festooning my domicile with halloweeniana.  Who can hold anger in their heart, in the warm glow of a jack o’lantern smile?

I have spent my adult life avoiding being lady-like. I don’t see the appeal.
    I wouldn’t mind the divan-lounging, though.
