We furrowed our brows!
We tsked! We harrumphed!
We firmly expressed our dismay!
We clutched at our pearls, and
We fainted on couches,
And mostly just called it a day.
We met with constituents
(Wait, that’s not true)
To explain that–no, really–we care!
We scheduled Town Halls
(Which, for reasons, we cancelled)
To show we had courage to spare!
We went on the news!
(Well, we showed up on Fox)
To debate all the why’s and the how’s
We’re doing our best!
What more do you want?
I mean, really–we furrowed our brows!
Seriously, does anyone expect more? I could have posted this a year ago, or (probably) a year from now, and it’s all the same.
I have more I could say, but it is grading season. So I’ll just say hi to my wonderful people, and say thank you for all these years, and especially this last one where I leaned on you an awful lot, even if you did not know it. With any luck, I’ll be back to something approaching regularity sometime soon. It has been a weird year.
