“Spoilers…”

There’s only one thing that could get in the way
There’s only one reason I’d wait
There’s only one reason I’d take one more day
One reason alone to be late
I’m taping The Doctor, and not watching live,
I’m freeing myself from time’s tether—
Just twenty hours later, her plane will arrive,
And then we can watch it together.

Yeah… I’ll be away from all forms of technology while the rest of the world watches the Doctor Who special (Today or tomorrow, depending on where you are when you read this). Cuttledaughter is coming home for a visit (insert happy dance here), and we’ll be watching The Doctor together. Envy me. But NO SPOILERS!

Oh, and, for those who don’t know, there is a charity Christmas book of Cuttleverse (all proceeds to charity) and the second omnibus collection, “Ink” (proceeds go to me), and more (including freebies), all available here.

I’ve a suspicion there’s no actual “tape” involved in the “taping”. Just as there was no “film” involved in the “filming”.

My wife and I, on the other hand, will be watching live at 11:30 PST. Or whenever it is, we’ll check.
We’re still watching the colossal Blu-Ray boxed set I bought, and only up to Series 4.

    (RiverSong) Spoilers! (/RiverSong)

Interesting that 50th Anniversary of Dr. Who’s beginnings is (almost) the same day that Kennedy died. No doubt a plot that the conspiracy theorists have not yet thought to plumb. That being said, it’s nice to have something uplifting (or funny) to watch besides reliving what we all were doing on that fateful day. Since we don’t get cable TV, I must be satisified with playing Google’s little Who game. Very cute!

@ Joan: I saw somewhere that DW was supposed to premier on the 22nd but got preempted by the assassination.

We’ve watched the special. We liked it. Summary for Cuttlefish:

There’s a man called The Doctor.
    There’s a companion.
    There’s an adventure..
    There’s a Blue Box.
    There are some monsters.

I actually saw the first episode (or more probably the repeat a few days later. Which IIRR was because of the assassination).

I suspect my age is even more befitting than the CuttleAge.

I’m pretty sure I watched the 1st episode, which was followed very quickly by news of the JFK assassination.
