Wanted: Strong Demand

Update: Here’s the link to the product page. (currently they have the image mis-attributed; Mike McRae is, of course, the designer of the Cuttlefish With Quill, and I modified it for the emblem myself.)

Ok, so yesterday’s “Prototype” post included the facetious note to the EvolveFish people that this is what they were missing.

The one thing I was not expecting was that they would read it and comment:

I think we can have a vinyl cutout version of this on EvolveFISH.com by Wednesday noon. If there is strong demand, we can have an injection molded version in 5 weeks.

Shit just got real.

I know *I* want this to happen. If it does, of course, I expect my original (the Lassiter version) to be added to the Smithsonian collections… or something.

What all well-dressed cars will be wearing this season...

They advertise pretty heavily here on FTB, so I’m not surprised that they read the blogs too. Good for them. I’ll check into ordering one.

    From the site: http://www.evolvefish.com/contact.html

Real live human support is available between 10am – 4pm Mountain Time every day,
    toll-free at: 1 * 800 * 386 * 5846

You can try and get us at other times, but there’s no guarantee we’ll be there.

Or you can e-mail us at: order105 at EvolveFISH dot com.

FWIW, I’d buy the injection molded one. The recent heat caused my Pirate Fish to abandon ship, so I’m in need of a replacement.

  5. 5

I’m inclined to get one were it available.

  6. 6

I would buy a window cling version =]

  7. 7

I work at a Graphics shop that does this sorta stuff all the time.. Hit me up. If you wanna handle smaller orders until you get the deal with EvolveFish settled..

  8. 8

    “… the Lassiter version…”

Will it get that hot redhead to pretend to be your wife?
And if so, can I borrow it?

  9. 9

laymanatheist– if the EF people don’t find sufficient volume, I absolutely will. Seeing as they are among our advertisers, though (and made first offer), it’s theirs to decline for now. Thanks, though!

I’ll buy one to put on my company car!
    Support your local poet!!!

We could get FSM on one side and DC on the other!

  12. 12

I’d put one on the van.

  13. 13
Subtract Hominem, a product of Nauseam

    I would get one. Strongly.

  14. 14

How do we tell demand them?

  15. 15

So, obviously I changed thoughts mid-sentence and failed to preview.

    How do we demand them?

  16. 16

I’m guessing they’ll let us know, perhaps today when the vinyl cutout version one is available. Given that they only made the offer yesterday, I’m gonna give ‘em time to breathe… just a bit–I want!

  17. 17

    Squee! I bought one!

It seems to be the perfect way to express sciencey/atheisty goodness without openly antagonizing my I’m-not-quite-out-to-them-all-yet religious family.

MadScutter: The recent heat caused my Pirate Fish to abandon ship, so I’m in need of a replacement.

Serious students of religion know that the number of pirates in the world is related to global temperatures. MadScutter’s report is evidence that we have entered into a vicious circle, a closed loop feedback system in which higher temperatures are negatively affecting the number of pirates, which in turn leads to higher temperatures.

Is it already too late? Are we all doomed?

  22. 22

I’ve ordered one too. They cost $7.80 with first class shipping.

  23. 23

I have his mug, now I will have his car magnet. I revere the Cuttlefish.

I demanded two of ‘em – strongly! :D

  25. 25

I think the phrase to use is “SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!”

  26. 26

Very cool. I know Professor Rebecca Priestley would love one of these!
