Who is she waiting for? Must be somebody pretty important to inspire that kind of persistence. I sort of feel like joining her on that step to be sure I don’t miss anything.

Only a dog could do that, sit do nothing as snow falls and coats it.
I’ve sat outside like that in a warm Thailand rain storm, but it’s not quite the same.
A bear could do it. A mink could do it. An otter could do it.
I’ve done it. For a little over 2 hours. sweater, no water barrier, no gloves. Thin silk long johns under jeans. Socks, no shoes. Snow. And more snow. And quiet thought.
