Starting weight: 186.4 lbs
Last week’s weight: 179.8 lbs
Current weight: 178.6 lbs
Weight loss this week: 1.2 lbs
My weight was so perfectly stable at 179.8 for the whole week that I thought my scale was broken. But then I magically lost 1.2 lbs this morning. Weight loss is weird.
But yeah, not a good week for being healthy, thanks to lots of stress at school, no time to go grocery shopping for healthier food, and womanly issues. Yay hormones!
Though now’s my chance to pull way ahead of JT, while he’s at an atheist conference gobbling up conference food all weekend. Mwahaha!

Well done Jen, I hope you’re spending enough time congratulating yourself. Even though you’ve had a bad week with stress etc you’ve still achieved a loss. It’s brave to be doing this as a competition, because as you say, weight-loss is weird, so even if you try ridiculously hard it can still sometimes feel a bit useless. So, you’re doing great. There’s also a chance that there’s a similar post floating about somewhere, I lost it… so apologies if my heartfelt sentiments appear twice in slightly different formations!

And also against a guy, since we know they can sometimes lose weight in unfairly easy ways! Darn those Y chromosomes!

It happens. When I was losing weight I could have a whole week where I lost nothing, then be down 2-3 pounds or more the next week. Have you been measuring around your waist and chest and hips to see if your body is changing? The weeks I didn’t lose any weight seemed to be the same ones things started fitting better, as if I could either lose weight or size but not both at the same time. Very weird.

Yup. When I was on my monitored weight loss program I’d tell my family each week what I’d lost. My sister would just look over at me with daggers in her eyes. Friendly, loving daggers of course. :)

LOL, weight loss is always more interesting to the parties participating. People who’ve never had to deal with weight-loss don’t get it, and people who want to, but can’t/won’t get involved, HATE you for it.

Do you measure your weight at the same time each day? I’ve noticed that it’s more consistent if you do that. I do it right away in the morning before food or drink can swing it up. You can be +/- 3 pounds or more at a given time of day.Either way, good work! You’ve contributed to me getting off my ass to exercise as well. Good luck, Jen.

Hmm, I lost 5 lbs last week, and all it took was my wife being hospitalized for two days, leaving me alone at home, too stressed out to eat and otherwise incapable of cooking for myself even if I was able to consume food.Ain’t life grand?

I plan on being there for the noon weigh in at Cal Lutheran, with debit card in hand……glad to see you haven’t lost forty pounds or somethin’…at $4 a pound!
