Our Universe

New Map Made of First Trillionth of a Trillionth of a Second After Big Bang.

We know now:

1.The Universe is 13.82 billion years old.
2.The Universe is expanding a bit slower than we expected.
3.The Universe is 4.9 percent normal matter, 26.8 percent dark matter, and 68.3 percent dark energy.
4.The Universe is lopsided. Just a bit, just a hint, but that has profound implications.

I often get angry with human species because of their stupidity. But sometimes I just get speechless when I see the same species discover things that are unimaginable. I feel proud of being a human, I feel lucky to know about the universe where we are living.

It is so spectacular! so breathtaking! So magnificent! So unbelievable!
And so believable!

Someone says, It’s a great time to be alive, as we’re understanding the Universe better and better than ever. True, really.

Well its actually a map of the light liberated at around 300,000 years after the big bang (check around 1:50) but it provides insights into the earliest moments the universe. Still, it’s amazing how far science has come on the origins of everything around us.

What a difference it is to say:
“…the data does not fit the theory…”, we have to rethink the theory !
“…we have the one and only truth that matters because it’s written so in an old, weird book, and old weird men tell us that it’s true and no data whatsoever will change the truth of the one and only true truth …”

Thank you Taslima for this short clip. Far too often I read horrible things here on your site, things that make me despair. But you also never fail to remind us how beautiful and awesome our planet and the universe around us is.

  3. Milon Ahmed. says

The Universe is 13.82 billion years old. The earth is 5 billion, human is 0.004 billion and religion is 0.000007 billion years old.
