Nobody seems to be tackling the fact that it’s obscene to sell a bunch of land full of people -- as though they are chattel. If the US asked Greenlanders “would you like to join us?” and got a nearly unanimous response, that makes sense -- but the shitheads in Washington haven’t noticed that 80+% of the population of Greenland is brown. The US would not offer a load of brown people citizenship. It’d be Porto Rico all over again.
I know the US is not a democracy (and Sweden has too much left-over Napoleonic aristocracy) but the correct answer to a “sell us land and the people on it” would be: “we are a democracy.” Let the dumbass Americans figure it out.
