But if you happen to be the kind of person who cannot help himself, reader flex sent me this clip from a Canadian sketch comedy show with comedian Rick Mercer about an alert system that warns people around you that you are going to give them your opinion even if it is not wanted.

I’m sure there are a few here who remember the Cheers episode in which know-it-all mailman Cliff wears a shock collar and has a guy monitoring his interactions and zapping him preemptively.

If I recall correctly, Cliff ended up in a semi-comatose condition when his monitor couldn’t control himself giving as his excuse that he was punishing Cliff for his thoughts.

Jockaira- A few things happened. The monitor pressed the button once by accident when he saw Rebecca walk by in a sexy outfit. When Cliff finally became fed up, he got into an altercation with the monitor (with numerous button pressings, naturally). The button got lost in the fight and was picked up by octogenarian Al, who began pressing it, calling out “dance, mailman!” Good times….
