Anti-abortion forces in the US are doing everything they can to make the process of getting one so difficult that while the right to an abortion may exist in theory, in practice it will not be available except (of course) for rich people who can afford to go anywhere and get a doctor to perform one.
Jessica Williams of The Daily Show looks at what Alabama is trying to do. The state does not even have a proper public defender system for indigent people who need a lawyer but is debating a bill that will allow a judge to assign an attorney to defend fetuses.

Is it just me, or are those plastic models of fetuses a bit odd? They don’t look like the fetuses I remember. They all seem to look like full term babies, but smaller.

They have clearly been Agreed, those are far more baby-like than hey should be, especially the models representing the very early stages of gestation. This is yet another ploy to erode the option of abortion: make them cute to drum some guilt into the woman seeking an abortion. All stages of this process are geared towards the unstated-but-blatant goal of preventing 100% of all potential abortions. And then as Jessica noted, cutting them loose as soon as they are born.
