I think I mostly hang out with the right people (although, I was associating with a bad crowd when I was active in that New Atheist thing), because the news keeps popping up with all these horrible people I knew nothing about until they committed their crimes. Which is not surprising, since that’s how news works.
The first nobody is someone going by the moniker “Front Row Joe”, actual name Adam Radogna. His claim to fame is his membership in a cult.
Radogna is a loud and proud “Front Row Joe”—a small subset of Trump fanatics who spend days camping to secure prime spots at a presidential event.
In 2024, he told NJ.com that he had been to more than 40 rallies.
“We have members from all over the country. It’s no more than 30 or 40 of us and we just love to support Donald Trump,” he said at the time. “He knows who we are and we’ve all met him.”
Yikes. We already know there is something wrong with that man, but the police have found something even wronger.
Adam Radogna, a 37-year-old Ohio restaurant owner, was indicted by a grand jury for possessing dozens of images containing child sexual abuse material, the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office announced Tuesday.
A search warrant was executed at Radogna’s home in Brook Park, a working-class neighborhood southwest of Cleveland, after a joint federal and state investigation identified his residence as a potential location for child sexual abuse material. The search yielded multiple troubling files on Radogna’s devices, the prosecutor’s office said.
These are Trump’s people.
Another cult group I don’t follow are the evangelical Christians — there’s something wrong with all of those people. Seth and Heather Thompson Day were “popular” (again, not with me, I never heard of them before) Seventh Day Adventist proselytizers. They are firm believers in Christian love.
According to the newly released documents, the Days’ daughter had told local hospital staff that on September 22, the same day of the alleged physical assault, “[Seth Day] engaged in sexual intercourse with [her] on her bed.”
While describing the alleged incident to investigators, the complaint states that she “was very timid about details and stipulated to the details of the sexual assault as ‘yucky.’” She also described the location of a bottle of lubricant her father used in the assault.
“Yucky”. Yes, very yucky. But there’s more!
The daughter alleged her father had repeatedly physically abused her. On Sept. 22, according to the affidavit, Seth Day allegedly struck his daughter with her cell phone, “causing lacerations and multiple areas of bruising on her face.”
“She also advised there was a bruise on her chest,” according to the affidavit.
The injuries were documented by the investigating officer. The daughter also told police the abuse had happened repeatedly in the past, leading to Texas Child Protective Services Investigations, and the daughter alleged the family moved homes because of those reports.
Just say no to cult behavior. These are people I never wanted to know about, and will happily go back to my state of ignorance…except that I will have to worry generically about all the nobodies who will erupt into my awareness with other horrible acts.

If you search long enough, you will find an American version of that creepy German who built a secret room under the house. And I am 90% sure he will be a Trump supporter.
.
If you find a cannibal, he will quote RFK Jr. about the importance of eating natural food.
-Worst case: An apocalyptic cult with the actual competence to make sarin, or a bioweapon.
Here us another one who we never heard of before for good reasons.
Dr. Amy Acton’s mother.
The mother has been in trouble with the law for almost all of her life.
She killed two kittens in a hot car not so long ago.
She was investigated for animal hoarding in 2022, when she was found living in her car with 20 cats.
How do you even fit 20 cats in a car anyway?
My cat takes up half the house and the deck.
And, BTW, she isn’t a reliable source for much of anything.
birgerjohanson @ #1 — You don’t have to search for long: Jeffrey Dahmer and Phillip Garrido, as well as Garrido’s wife. Just a few of the awful people the US has produced in my lifetime. Dahmer murdered at least 16 people and included having some of them for dinner. Garrido and his wife kidnapped an 11 year old who Garrido then sexually assaulted repeatedly over the 18 years they held her. She had two children by him. They kept her in a makeshift tent in their backyard
I suspect that you could find similar horror stories in any modern society.
Even Canada? Yes, even Canada.
Idiots following Trump to sit in the front rows of Trump’s rallies? Well. Trump is not doing rallies in person any more. Trump is doing what passes as rallies on line. Not that it matters much. Only 5 days until November 3, voting day.. The day after, Wednesday is going to be exiting as we find out just how bad the GOP fares. Turn on the TV and finish off that bowl of stale Halloween candy as the results come in.
@birgerjohanson + @robro
And then there was a sick, Mormon man in Sandy, Utah who kidnapped Elizabeth Smart and made her into a sex slave for a few years before someone discovered her on the street and called the police to rescue her and bring the religious pervert and his accomplice wife to prison.

The cult had a branch in New York, too. Asahara was sentenced in 2004, executed in 2018. No specific mention of his impression of Trump, or what Trump thought of his butt. If he’d lived longer, maybe they could’ve commiserated over their shared rabid hostility to election losses.
Maybe, but expelled from Expelled was epic.

Speaking of cults: I just watched the documentary Queen of Canada about the short reign of Romana Didulo, whose domain at its greatest extent consisted of an abandoned school in a tiny prairie town. Basically a nobody and small-time grifter who managed to tie her star to the QAnon bandwagon just when the pandemic was weakening many people’s ties to reality. Focuses on three people who were with her during that period, who still seem to suffer from those basic delusions, only they eventually realized that Didulo wasn’t the one to lead them to the promised land.
I haven’t heard of any sexual abuse stories coming out of that circle.
How is nobody talking about this…the most epic troll of a Fox reporter ever at a recent Trump rally (I’m channeling Cormac McCarthy’s abrupt dialogue formatting style here because quotation marks and attribution are superfluous):
I am in total awe of Tom. Chef’s kiss.
