MAGA=racist

Do you think the Kent GOP regrets providing a backdrop for those disgusting remarks?

Maybe it’s not fair to equate all of MAGA with racism; it may be a deeper issue. Maybe they are all just deeply, profoundly, irrationally stupid. RFK jr was demonstrating both racism and stupidity in Michigan, campaigning for Mike Rogers against Abdul El-Sayed, where, rather than addressing politics and policy, he instead launched a bigoted rant against all Muslims, and to do so he had to ignore all the facts and evidence.

There’s five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don’t produce science,they don’t win the Nobel Prize. They don’t win the Fields Prize. They don’t win the Wolf Prize. They don’t produce literature. They used to produce — they were the first to make books, and they, in the 13th century, typical Muslim princes had more books in their libraries than existed in all of Europe, and all of that tradition has been destroyed by the Muslim Brotherhood. They have created stagnant societies, that do one of two things, hatred and war and victimization.

Jeez. I’ve long despised RFK jr for his bad science, but now I have to hate him even more for his over-the-top racism. His claims are garbage through and through. You can’t equate Muslim with Arab; most Muslims are not Arabs. The claim that Muslims (or Arabs, it’s not clear who he is insulting) haven’t won any Western-defined prizes for great science and literature isn’t true, and the Associated Press has compiled a long list of examples. Telling us that they haven’t won prizes established by Western and colonial nations is not only false, but that Muslims have competed in a rigged game and succeeded is evidence that they have great ability. The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in 1928, and you’re claiming that this relatively marginal organization has destroyed the Muslim intellectual tradition in less than a century? Remarkable.

It’s minor but amusing that he said Muslims only do one of two things, and then he listed three. I guess RFK jr doesn’t do math, just like he doesn’t do science or history. This could be the basis of a comedy skit, but Monty Python has already done it. It also wouldn’t be funny, since hatred and war and victimization are the foundational principles of the modern Republican party.

Those remarks ought to completely destroy his career, but I fear they won’t. The Zionists and the Republican party in general apparently agree with him.

    MAGA =hatefuil i=wiullfully ignorant bigots.

    Not just racist but misogynist, homophobic, transphobic, islamophobic bigoted pieces of excrement that should all be scraped off a metaphorcial shoe and give no power or control over anything ever.

    He’s an idiot. Obviously hasn’t heard of al-Kharawizmi and his development of algorithms, the basis of modern computing or Ibn al-Haythem and his significant work on optics and vision. Then there is al-Farabi who recovered and commented on the work of Aristotle so much so that he was called the Second Teacher. Or Nasr al-din Tusi and ibn al-Shatir whose work Copernicus used when he wrote his treatise placing the sun at the centre of the solar system. In fact the Maragha observatory built by Tusi was a model for the early observatories in Europe. Then there is Avienna, (ibn-Sind) whose Canon of Medicine was for several centuries a foundational medical text in European universities. I could name many more but I’ll finish with the Nobel prize. There are at least 9 Muslim Nobel laureates including the physicist, Abdus Salam who shared his prize with Sheldon Glashow and Steven Weinberg. A Muslim, an atheist and a Jew whose work in particle physics was later used by Higgs to predict the existence of the Higgs boson. Abdus Salam founded the International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy to support young physicists from developing nations in furthering their careers. What has RFK Jr contributed to the world apart from needless deaths from measles?

    Talking of fatuous and silly arguments, how did he get to 500 Million without using Arabic numerals? How did he get to zero without using the Al-Khwarizmi authored (give or take) concept of zero?

    I hate to counter bad faith arguments with silly examples that don’t necessarily address the concepts at hand, but they did it first so fuck it? Or something? Or I’ll come up with better arguments when the opposition merits it maybe? I feel like I don’t need to counter wooden clubs with gun powder weapons when bronze will do the job.

    Or to put it another way, sometimes ‘yeah, nah’ is all you need.

  4. raven says

    You can’t equate Muslim with Arab; most Muslims are not Arabs.

    It gets worse.

    “Arab” isn’t even an ethnic group.
    It is a language group made up of many different ethnic groups.

    As Islam spread out during the first millenium, they overran almost all the groups around them, who ended up adopting the Arabic language.
    To take one example, the Canaanites never went anywhere. They are still in Israel and Lebanon and now speak Arabic.
    Another, the people in North Africa are really northern Africans who now speak Arabic and we call them Arabs.
    Same for Egypt, Syria, etc..

    Here is the Google search explanation.

    Being Arab is primarily considered a cultural and ethno-linguistic identity rather than a distinct biological race.

    Key Distinctions

    • Ethnicity and Culture: According to Britannica, being Arab is defined by a shared heritage, history, traditions, and the primary use of the Arabic language. It spans diverse ancestral and regional backgrounds across the Middle East and North Africa.

    • Not a Biological Race: Arabs do not belong to a single racial or phenotypical category. Individuals who identify as Arab can have diverse physical features, skin tones, and genetic lineages because the identity includes both original peoples of the Arabian Peninsula and historically “Arabized” populations in North Africa and the Levant.

    • Language vs. Ethnicity: Arabic is the Semitic language family and spoken medium, whereas Arab refers to the people. Arabian generally refers strictly to geography or things originating from the Arabian Peninsula (such as Arabian horses).

    • Religion is Separate: While the majority of Arabs are Muslim, millions of Arabs are Christian or belong to other faiths. Conversely, most Muslims globally are not Arab.

    Islamaphobia is alive and well. Remember a Democrat going on about Al-Sayed, talking about 9/11 instead of the issues. Apparently “vote blue no matter who” doesn’t count if the blue candidate is Islamic.

  6. StevoR says

    @ ^ Recursive Rabbit : No I do not. Which Democrat specifically? When and where? Source please?

    The Democratic party has a number of Muslim candidates of course including Ilhan Omar and Rashia Tliab the only Palestinian Amercian congress rep plsu Hakeem Jeffries .

  7. drmarcushill says

    It is indeed hard to define “Arab”. For instance, al-Khwarizmi and many of the other above-mentioned Muslim scholars were Persian, not “Arab”. Modern self-defined Persians (mostly speakers of Farsi rather than Arabic) tend to be rightly proud of this heritage.

  8. birgerjohansson says

    I wonder about Chandra Sekhar. He came from India and does not have an arabic name, but he might still have been (nominally) muslim.
    Srninivasa Ramanujan was however – judging by the name – at least nomimally hindu.

    Mike Rogers’ YouTube ads have been claiming that El-Sayed will bring Sharia law to Michigan. What could be more Republican than lying to morons to stoke fear and appeal to bigotry?

  10. says

    I always wonder what Republicans mean when they say “Sharia law” and how they expect it to be implemented when we can’t get Christianity out of the government despite decades of effort to build that wall of separation we were promised.

  11. says

    <sarcasm> And what about all of those ethnicities that produced so many criminals? Shouldn’t we be rejecting as worthwhile all those groups that gave us mobsters and smugglers as only harming society? Obviously, that means no more Sicilians… or, well, certain subsets of Irish…

    And what have the Irish done for science? There are (thus far) only two Irish Nobel laureates in the sciences, and for such a prominent source of immigrants to other nations that implies that they’re not up to scientific inquiry. Send them all back, or at least keep them out of any position with responsibility for the sciences! <sarcasm>

    Apparently, the sins of the father that not only can, but must, be visited on the sons (and, these days, daughters, when they’re not sold into slavery and/or just plain ignored) are ethnicity and place of birth.

  12. JM says

    Don’t worry about it. It is morally fine to hate him for his bad science first. His work in medical fields based on his conspiracy theories and bad science actively lead to deaths in the US. His racism is run of the mill over the top speech racism that likely has no effect beyond pumping more garbage into the political atmosphere. Sufficient reason to hate him but not leading to immediate deaths like his medical decisions do.

  13. robro says

    Ironic that a person who actively promotes an anti-science agenda is accusing other people of being not being sciencey enough. Also note that his boss, DJT, has not be awarded a Nobel Peace Prize despite efforts to preasure the organization to give him one. Of course, that effort is just because the last American president to win the Peace Prize was Barack Obama, a Black American with an Afro-Arabic sounding name. Yet more racism. Yet another reason not to vote for the Dumbster party.

    Not to mention the most recent Nobel prize winner in Chemistry, Omar Yaghi, Nobel 2025, born to a refugee family in Amman, encouraged by his father to come to the US (alone) at age 15 despite his then limited command of English. BS (Chem) SUNY Albany; PhD U Illinois; Postdoc Harvard; Asst Prof Arizona State (where I met him), ultimately UC Berkeley. I would say that Omar and RFK pretty much define the entire range of human IQ, from highest to lowest… Although I’m embarrassed to belong to the same species as RFK. :-(

    Just last year, Omar Yaghi won the Nobel Prize in chemistry for the development of metal-organic frameworks. Yaghi was born in Jordan to Palestinian refugee parents. He also won the Wolf Prize, an international award for achievements in sciences and the arts, in 2018, for his contributions to the field of reticular chemistry.

    Vaccine scientist Peter Hotez expressed relief that his late colleague and “brilliant co-US Science Envoy,” the Egyptian-American chemist Ahmed Zewail, “didn’t have to endure” listening to Kennedy’s comments. Zewail won the Nobel Prize in chemistry in 1999.

    Entrepreneur Saad Mohseni listed a number of other “Arab science giants” who came to mind.
    Arab science giants:

* Ibn al-Haytham – father of optics

* Al-Kindi – invented cryptanalysis

* Al-Zahrawi – father of surgery

    * Ibn al-Nafis – mapped pulmonary circulation

    * Al-Battani – measured the solar year

* Ibn al-Shatir – pre-Copernican astronomy

* Ibn Khaldun . . .ETC.

    The Muslim elites came in 3 periods: Arabic, Persian, and Turkic. The lingua franca of Muslim intellectuals was Persian, not Arabic, for most of their history (11th-19th centuries), because the Turkic elites kept it. (source: Islamic History, pp. 49-62, by Adam Silverstein, a Fellow at Queen’s College, Oxford. Part of the Oxford Very Short Introduction series).

    Never mind that most Muslims aren’t Arabs, and there are 3 main (Sunni, Shiite and Sufi) and many minor strains of Islam. The radicals that promote terrorism are almost all from an extreme offshoot of Sunni Islam. (Wahhabism, which is a minority sect even in its home of Saudi Arabia). Blaming all Muslims for the acts of a small radical minority is about on par with blaming all Christians for the former terrorism of the IRA.

    RFK and the other anti-Islam bigots are profoundly ignorant.

  18. daulnay says

    Couldn’t finish that post for some reason. First a correction, Hamas and Hezbollah aren’t Wahhabis/Salafists. The 9/11 terrorists were, as are the ISIL.

    RFK and the other bigots suffer from laziness; an unwillingness to learn and to instead look for quick, simplistic and ignorant answers. People like that need to be kept away from the levers of power. And mocked for their foolishness, ignorance, and intellectual laziness.

    TheNewRepublic – Democrats Have an Islamophobia Problem Too (Oct 29)

    Centrist Democrats spent last year criticizing the party’s most visible Muslim candidate [Mamdani]—and have done so again in 2026 [El-Sayed].
    […]
    [*snipping other Dems*] some Democrats, such as Representatives Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey and Hillary Scholten of Michigan, are publicly refusing to back El-Sayed, both citing his connections to twitchstreamer Hasan Piker, who has emerged this election cycle as a trendy stalking horse for those wanting to label Democrats like El-Sayed as antisemitic.

    Reuters – Fact Check: Hasan Piker 9/11 remark misattributed to Michigan’s El-Sayed (Aug 17)

    Piker told Reuters in an email, “I used imprecise language in 2019 and immediately apologized […] My stance on this has been clear since 2019,”

    Michigan Dems want to fight Trump. First they have to stop fighting each other (Aug 27)

    El-Sayed’s appearances on the campaign trail with Piker have become a particular flashpoint Piker recently became embroiled in controversy again
    [*snip*]
    He said he was never particularly close with El-Sayed’s campaign—despite appearing with him at various events during the primary—and said that he did not want the race to become a conversation about him.

  22. nomadiq says

    It’s all ‘vibes’ with these people. They think most Muslims are Arabs and all Arabs are Muslims. They think no Muslims (or Arabs) contribute to science (like this RFK Jnr motherfucker has spent any time in any lab and looked around). What they think out of their ignorance and literal lack of exposure to the real world just becomes fact to them because they somehow have lived this enchanted life where no one literally snickered at them for thinking Arab/Muslims/Any_Brown_Person could ever do anything achieved in ‘the west’. The gall, the fucking ignorance of the facts on the ground is astounding. Or is it just bigotry? I don’t know anymore and I don’t fucking care. I resent having to share oxygen with such stupidity.

  23. nomadiq says

    Oh not to mention we can source a lot of the failure of the Arab and Muslim states to establish liberal democracies to interference from the west. Why are there so many absolute Monarchies in the gulf? Why so many corrupt dictators in adjacent areas? That’s a good question. RFK Jnr could go look into that. But the complexity of the issue would be way way over his head. Even the high school level would baffle him. Much easier to self sample based on the work of other clever people who happen to share a skin tone and claim it as your own. As if only you could do it.

  25. John Morales says

    Pierce, it does not say ‘ “Google” thinks there is such a thing as “a distinct biological race”’, it says it is cosidered such.

    You are attributing to “Google” what it reports. Passive voice there.

  27. says

    I will counter RFK’s words by noting that there are 75 million worthless American voters who do nothing but worship their false god, Donald John Trump. Whatever RFK has planned for the “Arabs” we should also plan for those Americans.
