I’m pretty sure we have no flat earthers here

But if we do, let’s smoke them out.

For those unfamiliar with the region, Mt Rainier (correct spelling) is about 80 miles (130 km) north-north-east of Mt St Helens. That photo is a good visual aid for refuting flerfs.

Argue away! Or can I expect dead silence because no one is stupid enough to fall for that flat earth nonsense here?

I’ve got a morbid curiosity about how they rationalize a conspiracy dating back to ancient mathematicians who calculated the circumference of the earth in olden days. If everyone’s been lying about the earth being round, why?

Of course, I imagine most flerfs haven’t thought that far. Most probably just want their gut impressions to be more authoritative than the combined hard work and diligent calculations of humanity. They want their pride and laziness to be virtues.

Mt. Rainier just seems smaller than Mt. St. Helens because it’s further away.

    How’s that for flerf logic?

I learned a new word today which seems appropriate: slang-wrangler, “someone who uses abusive slang or is a ranting partisan.”

I learned the word from this Washington Irving quote:

“In this country every man adopts some slang-wanger as the standard of his judgement, and reads everything he writes, if he reads nothing else: which is doubtless the reason why people of this logocracy are so marvelously enlightened.”

“Logocracy” was Irving’s label for the US.

Obviously that explosion in 1980 was a controlled demolition by the government to conceal the TRUTH!
