I was browsing pubmed for some interesting articles when I noticed that every article is tainted with this stupid announcement.

NIH Websites Are Changing
Get the Latest Updates and FAQs on the transition
Per Executive Order 14434, federal agencies are now using “Super Intelligence” (SI) in place of “Artificial Intelligence” (AI). You may see both terms across NIH content during this transition.
Yuck. Our president thinks he can meddle in things he does not understand and lacks the ability to comprehend by simply renaming things, and the NIH is going along with it. So disappointed.
It’s not intelligence, let alone “super” intelligence.

All this renaming shit is just more evidence that the current president is nothing more than a garden variety troll and should be treated as such. Unfortunately, the media take the bait every time and he just gobbles it up.
The only people I see using Super Intelligence are people forced to do so.
Which is Fedeal employees who get a government pay check.
Everyone else just ignored it and moved on.
Even Google calls their AI Overviews, “AI Overviews”.
To quote Dangerousbeans at Mano Singham’s blog, ‘AI’ is PR bullshit.
“AI” is not intelligent n any meaningful sense of the word and yet it still manages to be smarter than Trump.
Imagine a science class where students are required to report their results in SI, but are not allowed to use SI.
Of course, Trump probably thinks the metric system is some evil European thingy…
As I have said for weeks, it should be called Stupor Intelligence!
And, we should all be chanting E.T.T.D. Everything Trump Touches Dies.
It gets worse.
It was just discovered that a major Alaska natural gas project has secret Russian funding.
The CEO reported it and resigned.
This violates more than one US law. It is also likely that there is way more to this story than has been disclosed so far.
It wouldn’t surprise me if the Trump crime family is involved in it somewhere.
Trump is a dumbass. He thinks people don’t like AI because it’s a bad name and he can fix it by renaming it.
But also, to all those who are still asleep and think AI is “stupid” or its all “marketing PR”, AI is already better than all humans in theoretical math/computer science and by a wide margin. This is from David Harvey one the two authors of the best previous O(n log n) algorithm for Integer multiplication:
@3: Any measurement system used by humanity should base itself on the number of digits.
Which, given the poor US (and generally English-speaking nations) record on actually followed-and-enforced-with-consequences-to-employers-for-violations safety precautions for maritime, agricultural, and industrial workers, would lead to utter chaos here. So we don’t. We just choose an illogical panoply of systems completely unrelated to the number of (remaining) digits.

WASHINGTON, Oct 26 (Reuters) – US political candidates have been engineering their campaign messages to appeal to the AI chatbots that more voters have been using to answer questions about issues, and documents seen by Reuters have revealed some of their strategies.
One Powerpoint presentation proposed a strategy for Mike Minogue, Republican challenger to Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey. It aimed to convince ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other chatbots to present him as the preferred choice on key issues, and went well beyond traditional search-engine optimization that candidates have used for years.
[…]
At the center of the pitch was the idea that in addition to persuading voters directly, campaigns can increasingly shape the information environment by feeding the internet, and AI assistants, data that influences how candidates are described, compared and recommended.
“Campaigns using AI-influence training are now a reality that we face and it will be ubiquitous by the 2028 cycle,” which will include a presidential election, said Joe Bonilla, managing partner of Relentless Awareness. The New York-based creative strategy firm has worked with companies and political candidates at the federal, state, and local levels.
“The public increasingly cannot and will not be able to discern what is created by systems like Claude and ChatGPT versus human-originated content,” Bonilla said.
Yes Trump & his regime is polluting everything planet~wise and with far worse than just the silliness of his random renamings of things.
The impact Trump and the rise of Trumpist reichwing govts have is worsening and hastening the Mass Extinction Event we are all currently living through and causing. The impact of the extra pollution, abandonment of environmental laws that protect us all aka “green tape.” The impact on biodiversity and most of all the impacts on Global Overheating form his “drill baby drill” environmental vandalism beyond vandalism is apocalyptically bad for everything alive.
Reminder – obligatory since not enough people seem to heed it historically :
If we want to see any progress in the USA and anything good come out of an election it is essential that everyone VOTEs BLUE NO MATTER WHO!
This is the way.
The ONLY way. Vote Blue. No matter who.
@ ^ Specifically the USA’s mid-term election in under ten days time.
If enough people vote the right way maybe it will be too big to rig. Maybe. Hopefully.
The alternatives are literally catastrophic for us all.

No. No I shall not, and neither shall you, StevoR. Because neither of us is eligible.
But the point should be obvious: you are their mirror image, messaging-wise.
The sentiment is as I adumbrated it.
(I myself would exhort people to look at what they do, not just at what they say, but I am not an ideologue)
