The real question is: When will we finally be bringing them back? It is about time for the destruction my species wrought to be undone.

Ugh. The accompanying graphics are so irritating, distracting, silly, and pretty much useless. I had to scroll away from the video so I could just listen. Information with some actual illustrations and photos would work, please.

drdrdrdrdralhazeneuler @#1, it really isn’t. As with the attempts to bring back dire wolves and mammoths it would be fundamentally cruel to bring back any of our fellow hominims with out being able to reproduce the culture and environment with in which their forebears lived.
Thanks for sharing that PZ, the Denisovans are fascinating.

Agree with rabbitbrush. Dancing skeletons do not add to the presentation.
But it was interesting to hear of the newer Denisovan finds.
@1: They already have. There are at least 500 exemplars ordinarily found within 2000m of 39.8895N x 77.035W. Not to mention all of the “archaic humans” on your ballot.
I’m only partly kidding about “archaic humans” given the average age of US elected and Senate-confirmed officials…

Thanks for that! I was very out of date on my Denisovan knowledge. I thought we still only had the one finger bone. It’s great to get a slightly better picture of them.

Sign of the times that the very first words here are the disclaimer : “100% organic, AI free” Vocie still sounds computer generated and not natural tho so I wonder why that is?
It has gotten to the point where its really hard to know what’s real or not AI~wise & that is a real worry.

i cannot believe that when they finally associated a skull with the species, it was even more heavy-browed and beefy than neanderthal. these guys looked hella monke, which is cute. i love that they have descendants among our species. love it.
