Whenever I see someone who try’s to justify their prejudices biblically, I’m reminded of the words of a 19th century christian abolitionist:

Adding LGBTQ to ‘color or race’ removes no one from the category of a neighbor. I gave up religion long ago, but I still make an effort to treat people in a decent way. Besides, the gist of the law of love existed long before any bible was ever written.

So lets go to Genesis 1:27. God created Man in His own image. Male AND Female He created them. So God is Male And Female. Therefore, God is either Intersex or very confused. So the correct term when referring to God is He/She. So if Thomas is made in the image of God his real name has to be Thomas/ina.
Seriously though there are plenty of cultures that have no religious issues with transgender folk. There are also many who regard images of God as blasphemy and certainly don’t depict him as an angry, spiteful, blue-eyed, white guy.

One thing I tend to think about Bible thumpers these days is that they’re telling God what to do. If God made the universe, facts derived from observing the universe would have more authority than some iron age barbarian claiming divine inspiration that happens to match common political agendas of the time. Faith is the hubris of being able to say, “No, God, you’re wrong! I, in my Perfect Faith, know this old book to be more correct than you!”
Of course following that line of logic is part of how I arrived at the tentative conclusion that there is no god. And certainly not some all-too-human tyrant deity.

As far back as 415, Augustine of Hippo had an entire rant in De Genisi ad Litteram about that sort of thing, though admittedly he was approaching it mostly from the angle of “speaking nonsense about obvious facts of the world that non-Christians can see for themselves makes us look like idiots and thus makes it a lot harder to spread the Word.” He may have believed in a pretty literal interpretation of Genesis (hence the title of the book), and he would probably have fundamentally distrusted the concept of science as an act of hubris that humans could truly know anything without Divine inspiration, but he also believed that anybody who didn’t look around them and see what the world really looked like shouldn’t be a missionary because they made the entire faith look bad.
Unfortunately way too many people who loudly call themselves Christians are absolutely committed to their narrow worldview and then go out and blame the world for not fitting into it. Most of modern evangelizing seems to be more focused on reinforcing in-group/out-group boundaries by actively alienating anybody who isn’t already a believer than it is on following Augustine’s ideas on actually trying to convert people.

JWs seem to have a poor sense of time.
For people so obsessed with pronouns, it’s strange to me that they don’t seem to have the slightest notion of grammatical case.
If they can’t tell the difference between nominative, accusative, and genitive, I don’t see why I should give the SLIGHTEST, TINY crap about their opinion on gender.

Opinions shape behaviour, and don’t require linguistic expertise.
Because of that sort of opinion, trans people are mocked and persecuted.
