Just yesterday I was savoring the rapid retreat of the piles of snow heaped up by the roadside, enjoying a nice long walk on sidewalks that were not covered with ice, and anticipating the flourishing of spiders everywhere — I even released about a hundred surplus lab spiderlings in my yard and garage. Today…
Cold. Windy. Light snow. Spring!
Better you than me.
Minnesota’s 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and August.
The Sami (lapps) have eight seasons, to include intermediate periods like this.
Here is something that might warm you.

You know, the aliens in The Three-Body Problem had a clever way to wait out miserable periods like this.
Another day ending in ‘Y’, another Clarence Thomas corruption scandal.
Reginald Selkirk — Whadda ya’ mean “another Thomas corruption scandal”!!? It’s just “a pattern of errors and omissions in his financial disclosures”. I know because Bezo’s WaPo told me so. It’s pretty good one, too. Wonder who else on the Supreme Court is doing similar crap?
… and because she was as beautiful as an English Summer’s day they called her Snow White.(Burkiss Way)
Naah, Clarence Thomas has just worked out what late-stage capitalism is about.
Remember, PZ: Minnesota has a special celebration to celebrate the last of the celebrated snow. It celebrates independence from winter and is called, appropriately, Independence Day, and is celebrated on July 4th. So celebrate, celebrate, celebrate!
Oggie, when I was young (before global warming) we had a bit of snow on June 6th once.
OT.
“It” has happened again.
Thoughts and prayers, everyone.

Water.
How much water do spiders need and how do they get it?
There are 8 other justices on the Supreme Court, but I haven’t seen any revelations about any of them recently. I have to believe that someone has started looking.
Reginald Selkirk — Given the success they are having with Thomas, I would suspect ProPublica is looking into the others and perhaps some of those in Congress and the Senate. My partner wants to donate to ProPublica, and I’m inclined to agree.
11°C and mostly cloudy on this side of the island. a meter of snow and (ongoing) avalanche threats on the other. spring is weird.

We have, at minimum, incipient scandals involving Mrs. John Roberts and Mr. Amy Coney Barrett, as well as a major backlog of investigation-worthy antics of Ginni Thomas.
