I am not sure which was more unrelenting – the snow leopard or the watermark. Probably the latter.

Assuming the cat lived, one must wonder how the hell it found it’s way back to the den after all of that. And while it is ‘reality’ TV, I’ll cut it some slack because it’s also Nature. The slo-mo replays were unnecessary IMHO. I think we got it the first time around: Eat today or die.
And fuck the watermark. Lame, just lame. Lucky bastard was at the right spot at the right time, nothing more.

@sparks: In wildlife photography it takes hundreds of hours of being in the right place at the wrong time to once in a while be there also at the right time. So a lot of that “luck” is due to a large investment of time and money.
Sure, the watermark was very annoying, but it’s not an unreasonable choice to put that in free footage if you’re also trying to license the footage in order to help pay back the large investment you spent capturing it.

that cat hung on no matter what and was floppin’ like a rage doll all the way down. My bet is it was not really seriously injured some bruises and some cuts maybe but no major broken bones his flexibility as with all cats is remarkable and from watching my own cat, maintained carefully every day.
I would also say that from all I have seen there are not much there that is any flatter then that and the sheep or ibex or what ever they are like those kinds of places so if the snow leopard wants to eat them she has to learn how to handle those kinds of falls

Watching it at full-screen size, AFAICT The goat hesitated at the edge of the cliff, and the cat didn’t.

Another dramatic clip worsened by the addition of dramatic music. The footage supplies the drama already, leave it unadorned and it will speak for itself.

And here I thought my cats were just licking their bums. I had no idea they were plotting to take down ungulates!
There is lots of wildlife cinematography of snow leopards, and they are amazingly good at climbing cliffs, so if nothing serious was broken, I’m confident that cat could get back up.
I’m not so confident that nothing was broken.

That was a tough way to earn your lunch. I don’t think I’d do well as a snow leopard.
@12: I think we all get that. Still no excuse. If one wishes to own images, take pictures of furniture at WalMart. Watermark. Slo-Mo repeats. Shitty music.
What would otherwise have been instructive has been reduced to bullshit by some asshole looking to make some money because he sat in the snow freezing his cracker ass off while trying to take film of Nature. And he was damned lucky. You want to chalk it up to perseverance. That’s not how random shit works, and this was random shit. One could wait a million years and never see, let alone film such an occurrence again.
Hope his ass doesn’t freeze to a rock while he’s waiting for the next one.

In other words, somebody did some work, after investing serious amounts of money, not to mention skill, while you are angry that you aren’t getting the results of their work in a format you would have preferred whithout paying a penny. Speak of entitlement…
As for cats, our neighbour’s cat kerps freaking out at our existence. Last week she jumped over the wooden fence into our garden, saw me, and freaked out because now I was between her and everything else.
I’ve also had her run almost into me and then lose her shit…

Twenty-plus years ago, I had the privilege of seeing a snow leopard at The National Zoo, in Washington, D.C. My primary memory was my astonishment at how fluidly and gracefully it moved. Yes, their fur is gorgeous, but the living animal is a stunningly beautiful treasure, to be admired and respected.
IIRC, they are also very difficult to capture on film in the wild, so the watermark is understandable.

Crazy video! Re: cat’s not sticking landings. Two weeks ago, my 3 year old cat did her crazy run across the room/jump onto the couch – a move she’s done approximately 3 million times – somehow missed her landing and broke her neck. From jump to corpse, took all of 3 seconds. Yeah, wife and I were sitting on the couch at the time. They don’t always walk away.

Wholly crap! Did the cat actually live long enough to eat that goat?
