Finally, some of the losers get the message.

Mike Huckabee has decided to end his presidential campaign but I think he should be forced to carry it to full term.

Rand Paul drops out of presidential race
I know. That last one isn’t funny or clever, but then, neither is Rand Paul.
Now I’m just waiting for Trump, Bush, Rubio, Cruz, Carson, Fiorina, Kasich, and Christie to get that message. Go home. You’re all bad for the country.
redwood says
I’ve always thought Rubio would be their choice. He’s just handsome enough to appeal to voters who care about those things. Policy-wise, he’s as bad as the rest of them, but he’s the best of a bad lot (from the GOP’s perspective). Unless they want to draft Paul Ryan again, or maybe that guy who lost in 2012, what was his name . . .
strangerinastrangeland says
Wait a second, didn´t Huckabee and Santorum (and also Walker and Perry) say that God told them to run for president? Does that mean that they disobey his command? Or that God was wrong?
Or maybe that just made stuff up…?
PZ Myers says
Yes. God should smite them with his wrath for being disobedient to his commands.

God told them to run, He didn’t tell them to win.

Well, I’ll be … Paul actually listened to the invisible hand of the market?

I didn’t know that Huckabee and Santorum were running this election cycle.

Carson can’t be far behind. According to the Washington Post, his funding is drying up so he’s cutting half his staff, and salaries of the remainder.

Don’t be so hasty in chucking away the best (worst) candidates in contrasting opposition to what our country needs*
These things are ALWAYS an exercise in contrast.
Hate the prospect of Trump or Cruz? FINE. GOOD.
By all means let us make sure the evil does not come into power.
Root root, hip hip hoorah, and sundry other idiotic sentiments in that inane direction.
However.
Democrats – with their astonishing capacity for ‘strategy ‘- historically blow it BECAUSE they promote an idiotic ideal instead of a real-world application of intelligence.
They would rather ‘spin’ information than honestly report it.
Does anyone really think that NOT encouraging the opposition into placing their worst foot forward is smart? Does it HELP to knock out a Trump or a Cruz before the actual fucking election?
In their own words: they constitute a ‘Godsend’ — and democrats can’t see the icing on the cake.
Again we seriously confront a circumstance which the democratic party will yet again shoot themselves directly in the throat.
Because they are ever so good at “strategy”.

I can’t believe nobody beat me to saying that.

I don’t think Third (as in, the third Bush wanting the White House) will be in the race for much longer.
