Boston’s Logan Airport has a hanger with a gorgeous bit of art at the end–a life-sized X-Ray of a Boeing 777 (the artist, I did not know, is one Nick Veasey, who has treated technology the same way the OP treats biology:: http://www.impactlab.net/2008/04/17/the-amazing-x-ray-art-of-nick-veasey/).
I always love the reminder that the “visible spectrum” is such a small slice of the potential information available via electromagnetic radiation.

Yeah! I picked up his book (at Half-Price Books of all places) more-or-less by accident. And I’m REEEEELY glad I did!

Thanks, so much. *pout*. I’ve been through Logan many times and never noticed that hangar there. Now you’ve just added another item to my todo list. Gotta go drive around Logan, lookin for that huge 777 X-Ray.
/JK, I’m pretty sure I’ll enjoy that hunt, even with all the Bostontraffix there. ;-)

I saw these in full size when they were hung at the Amsterdam Botanical Gardens, and they were beautiful. Also I was on drugs.
