Tune in Sunday at 9am Central to Atheist Talk radio. This is a call-in show, and you can phone or email in questions and comments…so I need to warn Watson’s frothing, obsessive haters that input is carefully screened, so don’t waste your time.
PZ, how could you pass the chance to end your comment by “so guys don’t do that.” instead of the pedestrian “so don’t waste your time.”
I am shocked, shocked and frothing.

But, but hating on RW is the most productive thing they do – how can you call it wasting time? PZ obviously has no respect for the amount of effort that goes into hating Rebecca.
I always thought there would be more backlash towards Ms. Watson’s “Don’t be a dick” position. I never admired it because I quite like being a dick about my atheism. How the world at large turned against her on something so simple as don’t be a creep has always mystified me.

I’m in the UK, but if I could I would ask, ‘Do you think it’s going to get better?’
If people keep pushing and standing up will it get better? Even if it doesn’t, of course, it’s still worth pushing and standing up.

Wasn’t ‘Don’t be a dick’ a Phil Plait thing?

Mike, is that her position? Didn’t notice…

More likely, the MRA clowns “think” it’s freedom – as in, males are “free to dominate women”. It certainly explains their ignorant attitudes and actions.
I say males because they’re not deserving of the word men.

“Don’t be a dick” is Phil Plait, not Rebecca Watson.

Rebecca Watson never said “don’t be a creep.” She said “Guys, don’t do that.” Try and get your facts straight before you twist them.
Surely, “Don’t be a Dick” is Wil Wheaton’s TMed phrase? Watson was “Guys, don’t do that,” which I’m sure we all agree was language inflammatory beyond forbearance. [/sarcasm]
Rebecca did use the phrase for a talk about effectively communicating with people close to you, but when Phil used it for his much more vague talk, it became apparently indelibly associated with him.

It’ll be much more efficient if they skip making the call and go directly to the slimepit to rail about their freedumb of speech being stifled.
LOL!
I am so stealing that.

It is, however, in the atheoskeptisphere, it’s considered to be Phil Plait’s thing. Y’know, this subgroup, that subgroup, and those guys over there.

MRAs also called women and girls “females” so calling them males is appropriate.

Calling them “adult men” certainly isn’t
