Yet another Twitter thread I want to bring to all of you. There’s been a lot of this “don’t be afraid! Be brave! We need to fight this!” and “turn that fear into determination” bullshit going around, lately…
Fucker, I’m a straight, white, cis-gendered, able-bodied man and I’m fucking terrified.
But I’ll let Elon James White take it from here…
Imma need some of y'all to quit it w/ the "Don't be afraid! We will fight" nonsense.
A lot of folks BEEN fighting. Thats why we're afraid.

Acknowledging fear isnt a surrender. Its expressing a feeling. Some of y'all talking about dont be afraid ain't had nothing to be afraid of.

"We have to fight!" Yeah. I know. Would've been nice if you would've came to this epiphany while we were dying in the street.
— Elon James White (@elonjames) February 9, 2017
And before some asshat flips out, I'm not saying that new folks shouldn't fight. Of course they should. I just don't need your commentary.
— Elon James White (@elonjames) February 9, 2017
I say all of this not in an effort to be divisive. I'm saying this to hopefully get folks to stop doing this shit so we CAN fight together.
— Elon James White (@elonjames) February 9, 2017
It's really hard to work with folks who seem oblivious of all the work, time and energy that has already been put in. It annoying AF.
— Elon James White (@elonjames) February 9, 2017
What some of you see as being inspirational is a smack in the face to others and dismissal of the struggle they've BEEN in. Welcome doe.
— Elon James White (@elonjames) February 9, 2017
As opposed to being offended/dismissing what I'm saying try to understand. Try a thought exercise. What if injustice didn't *just* start?

FYI, when us white people want to tell people of color to buck up, keep in mind that Trump just signed 3 executive orders that will shoot us right back to the segregation of the 60s (not like we were very far from that to begin with). None of us white people have the right to tell people of color, or any minority, to not be afraid. Their fear is real, and it is justified.
