And by hot I mean 7 trillion degrees. That’s the temperature reached by the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider or RHIC. Actually 7.2 trillion °F to be precise, making it the hottest temperature acheived by humans, and hotter than anything else we know of in the universe since the first nano-nano second after the bang.

I guess one positive outcome of the demise of US dominance will be the forced death of Fahrenheit temperatures et al. We should have bitten the bullet years ago. That being said the UK still uses a mix out of tradition and pure bloody mindedness so it’s not surprising that we resist such change as well.

I guess when we’re talking about trillions, adding or subtracting a few hundred degrees for k doesn’t change it much?
On a completely unrelated note, I think there’s a way for nature to top this. Two black holes with healthy accretion disks at opposite or perpindicular angles of revolution merge. Could the individual nucleons collide at higher energies in that maelstrom than in any earthly smasher? I bet they could.

But is it as hot as the Eternity in Hell that every True Christian has condemned me to? If not then i laugh, ha ha, at your 7 trillion degrees.
Now if the humidity was high enough then 7 trillion could be uncomfortable even in the South this weekend.
