Seems to me cats can do in reality what humans generally lack the flexibility to achieve right?
If some of those pin up girls weren’t painted methinks they’d be in a lot of pain, no?

many of the cats had that expression that says “look! you take one step further and I will eat your face!” which stands in contrast to the pinups come hither look

Okay, somebody had to say that.
Some of these old pin-ups featured girls who looked … pretty wholesome — mostly-clothed girl-next-door types who were as ‘safe for work’ as the cat photos. I like imagining that these drawings fed the fevered imaginations of guys who fantasized about taking these babes out for a hot-fudge sundae and holdin’ their hands. Maybe even marrying them later — and raising up a family. Hoo boy! O yea, Baby!

Some say the Internet is for porn, while others say it’s for pictures of cats. So this was bound to happen eventually.
I haz a disapprove, though, because the first picture I saw on there featured the adorable Maru, and sexualising him just isn’t right.

Sorry to disappoint, PZ, but this concept pre-dates the existence even of cheezburger. If it was going to ruin the cat obsession, it would have done so back in 1990-mumble when “live nude cats” went up.

Cats are a natural for pinup photos. Mine spends much of his leisure time* in “artistic” poses.
* “His leisure time” = every minute of every day except for 4 am, which apparently is happy fun play time in Cat World.
