Trump has been raging against Ilhan Omar for years, and now he has had her home raided…on suspicion of what? It’s not at all clear. There was no reason to think a sitting congressperson was somehow involved in any kind of criminal activity, and no evidence of such has been presented. It’s nothing but targeted harassment driven by a fat old pig’s bigotry.
And Ohio crowd chanted “deport” as President Donald Trump blasted Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., during a campaign rally speech on Monday night.
Trump held the rally in Youngstown, Ohio, just hours after federal agents executed a search warrant on Omar’s home in relation to a criminal investigation.
Trump took aim at Omar and the wider Somali community in Minnesota.
“She’s a disaster. She comes in from a country without laws, without police, without military. All they do is shoot each other, and she comes into our country and she says, ‘I have a constitutional right,'” Trump joked. “She’s got a constitutional right. She’s telling us about the Constitution and she’s coming from one of the worst countries anywhere on the planet.”
That’s the real reason for the raid: he just hates all people from a country in Africa. This is criminal prejudice and an abuse of federal law enforcement for a partisan purpose. Arrest Trump, not Omar.
I’m not in her district, but if I were, after this I’d be even more committed to voting for her, and I’m also more committed to seeing Trump impeached. It’s too bad congress is stacked with corrupt and stupid Republicans so that won’t happen.
He should have been gone after this blatant criminality.

Talking about national origins as if humans aren’t individuals who can deviate from their upbringing. Of course, I doubt Trump’s descriptions are accurate, as he loves depicting US states as anarchy where a lower class 1% immigrant minority has total power and not, you know, the wealthy elite who fund a police state.
Supposedly, they are investigating her for immigration fraud.
She was a child when she came to the USA with her family.
The one who filled out her paperwork was her father.
It is now beyond the statute of limitations and besides, he is now…dead. AFAIK, you can’t arrest and try dead people in the USA.
Supposedly, they had a judicial warrant, meaning a search warrant signed by a judge.
I’m wondering which judge, what the probable cause is, and how they thought it was a good idea to harass an elected congressperson.
BTW, it is known that Trump’s wife Melania and Elon Musk, among others actually did commit immigration fraud in the USA before becoming US citizens.
Elon Musk is still a citizen of Canada and South Africa. Sending him back would really help the USA.
Canada does NOT want him.
We’d like to see his citizenship revoked but that seems to be impossible.
The Trump regime is using false charges to go after a huge number of people such as the former head of the FBI, Comey.
This is all illegal and what dictatorships would do.
So how do they get the Grand Juries to sign off on these false charges.
It’s simple.
The DofJ prosecutors lie to the Grand Juries a lot.
False charges with false evidence seems to go a long ways.
A recent example where they got caught was the Broadview 6 in Chicago.
All charges were dismissed with prejudice.
The lead prosecutor has resigned and the judge is still investigating and unhappy with being lied to by the US DofJustice.
You say that like it’s never happened before. :) I’m not doubting Omar’s innocence, just saying being a Congresscritter isn’t necessarily a badge of virtue and righteousness. These days I’m afraid it might be more likely to be an indicator of corruption.
@raven #2:
…yet.
Scroll down a little in the following article and you’ll see a post by ‘republicans against trump:
Was Elon Musk an Illegal Immigrant? According to his brother Kimbal Musk, the answer is YES

The muskrat dropped out of school and ILLEGALLY started a company!
I say: deport his murderous ass to sudan with no phone and no money!

Well, the reasons why he wants to prosecute Ilhan Omar:
a.) Beeing a woman
b.) Having a high melanin content
c.) Having an IQ higher than the pumpkin child molester (well, that’s not too hard, my cat has a higher IQ than the spray painted abomination)
I must say, that Trump picked a Black Muslim congresswoman who represents Minnesota to persecute, is a very unfortunate choice for him.
I seem to recall that Minnesotans, especially those in Minneapolis, have no great reason to like Trump or support him or do anything that he wishes. Nothing like watching fellow Minnesotans being murdered in the street in broad daylight to discourage, with extreme prejudice, other Minnesotans from supporting him.
As was said, this will just get her more votes.
• What really irritates me is that necessarily somebody had to lie, under oath, to get the search warrant. A search warrant can be issued only for a particular place, at a particular time, when there is a sworn-under-penalty-of-perjury detailed declaration that evidence of the particular crime under investigation, of the nature specified in the application, will be found at that particular place at that particular time. In other words, it’s not just “She committed immigration fraud!” — it’s that evidence of that “fraud” is more probable than not to be physically at her DC residence (not, say, back at home, or in a safe deposit box somewhere, or in her lawyer’s office) right then. Unless they already had surveillance showing her taking the evidence in to the house, they can’t meet the “more probable than not” if only because she has two residences (one in her district)! And if they did have such surveillance, proper procedure indicates arrest first, get the easier incident-to-arrest warrant later.
• Isn’t it interesting that he’ll call the Hon. Ms. Omar a “total crook” (or, at other times, “complete crook”), but took three days to decide that his female ambassador to Greece, Ms Guilfoyle, needed to go because she outright asked for $100k from a donor?
He keeps using that word. I do not think it means what he thinks it does.
“She comes in from a country without laws, without police, without military. ”
Which is rather peculiarly odd, because one of the “charges” against her father is that he did not sufficiently disclose his history as a Colonel in the Sudanese Army, when they applied for refugee status.
But all this is directly in line with the desires of the fascists in this government, because history rhymes: https://www.lbi.org/1938projekt/detail/denaturalized/
