They’re all idiots

OK, so yesterday morning I posted that ridiculous AI video of an ark excavation. How about another stupid video?

That’s straight from Answers in Genesis. It’s official dogma at AiG that all the dinosaurs were vegetarian. And they still rake in hundreds of thousands of dollars from the rubes.

Meanwhile, the fully articulated and intact skeleton of Cuvier is spinning in his grave.

Does AIG push all humans to ‘go back to being vegetarians’? Since that is what we were before the Fall. Right?

Just how incredibly stupid can creationists get? As incredibly stupid as they were when they started shoehorning dinosaurs into their young earth fantasies as early as the mid 1970s’.

I’d say that with the loss of that gene that drives the appetite for umami (and therefore meat) in giant pandas, AiG’s god shows a very twisted sense of humor.
Although perhaps not as twisted as killing off nearly all those souls it created, because some of them behaved in ways it didn’t approve of. It couldn’t foresee that humans, given “free will”, would not always follow the rules? How omniscient…

Us humans were the original and only carnivore, all those animals were created just for our consumption. The ones selected for the ark were of course the tastiest. The flies, worms, skunks, spiders, and roaches, mmm, mmm good! Next time a Christian finds a tick on their dog they should follow their god’s intent, just pluck it off and pop it in their mouth.

Which brings to mind the idea that cannibalism was also intended by god. I mean the guy’s name wasn’t Ham by accident was it? The OG “dark meat” slow smoked. Mmm, and I had thought that banana slug might be best…

    … enjoy the Halloween seasonings!

About 20 years ago now, I worked with a guy who was a big AiG and Kent Hovind believer who started telling me about how T-Rex used its teeth to crack open coconuts before the Flood. Coincidentally, this was shortly after Sampson, the most complete T-Rex fossil on public display at the time had been on tour through my state, which I’d gone to see.

So a couple of days later I showed up to work with some coconuts I’d gotten at the grocery store and showed them to him, then showed him the picture I had of myself standing next to Sampson’s head, which made it very clear that despite not being a small person I could have easily fit inside Sampson’s mouth. He got the idea. Don’t think he ever stopped listening to AiG or Hovind, but he stopped trying to talk to me about it, which I took as a win.

Gen 1:30, cited in video: “And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that creeps on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food.”

Plants, they know what they did.

  7. says

Creationists, including Dumb Idiot Ham and his cronies, always parade certain supposedly carnivorous animals (like lions, alligators, and certain types of piranhas) that were shown to eat plants rather than meat to make the made up fantasy case for all animals being plant eaters before the alleged Fall of Man in the mythical, creationist tale. Never mind that the animals only do this to supplement their carnivorous diet. All while at the same time deliberately omit the many instances of vegetarian animals occasionally eating meat to supplement their diet of veggies and greens because that would wreck their made-up young earth fantasy image.

    Well… Genesis 3:7

And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

(Ouch! Fig leaves are kinda like sandpaper. Would work as cilices, but ;)

They’re hung up on avoiding sin rather than pursuing what God called “good”.

AiG – What Would Jesus Eat?

According to Genesis 1:29–30, at the end of the sixth day of Creation Week, God gave Adam and Eve and the animals permission to eat plants. It was not until after the Flood that man was given permission to eat meat. Although we do not know what sinful man chose to eat before the Flood, God did not give His permission to eat animal flesh until after the Flood, as recorded in Genesis 9:3.
    […]
God has not rescinded His Genesis 9:3 permission to eat meat. Moreover, the ceremonial laws given to Moses in Leviticus confirmed the Creator’s continuing permission for man to eat meat. These laws contain a list of clean animals […] Jesus assisted the disciples in catching fish in their nets, presumably to be eaten. Jesus Himself ate fish and cooked it for His disciples (John 21:9). […] Just because we have permission to eat meat does not mean we have to. […] the meat versus veggies choice is simply not a sin issue.

You have permission to compound the world’s suffering. You won’t be disobeying by eating meat, so it’s fine either way.

AiG – PETA’s “Vegan Bible” misses the whole point

Mankind’s sin broke creation and brought death and suffering into it. Death is the penalty for sin—something Genesis makes abundantly clear (Genesis 2:17, 3:19). God’s creation was no longer “very good” but groaning from sin. And after the flood, God gave mankind permission to eat the animals (Genesis 9:3).
    […]
Fig leaves couldn’t cover Adam and Eve’s sin because “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins” (Hebrews 9:22). Death is the penalty for sin, so a blood sacrifice was required to cover sin. So, God himself killed the first animal(s) and used the skins to cover Adam and Eve. This marks the first sacrifice. Blood sacrifices would continue […] These sacrifices were a picture of the ultimate sacrifice
    […]
Yes, Genesis (like all of the Old Testament) is about […] the Messiah […] To strip away references to death and sacrifice is to try to erase both the consequences of sin and the only remedy for sin: the blood sacrifice of the perfect Man, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, “who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).

    Modesty requires BLOOD!

AiG – What Does Jesus’ Death Accomplish?

because the whole creation is still suffering from bondage to decay and will continue to groan until the day of redemption (Acts 3:21), we still physically die to shed our mortal sin-filled bodies. […] Until Christ comes again and brings about the new heavens and earth, physical death is, for those who believe, their usher into eternal life with the Creator in their free-from-the-Curse bodies (1 Corinthians 15:35–58). […] we must still suffer the consequences (e.g., death, disease, pain) of our sin.
    […]
we who have inherited eternal life look forward to the Resurrection […] the future will include a change in the animal kingdom, to return them to their original vegetation-eating state (Isaiah 11:6–9).

Jesus could’ve fixed the world back then, but nah, he’ll get around to it later.

AiG – Just be good for goodness’ sake

good deeds are nothing more than filthy rags we hope will cover our faults and failures. […] Your own good deeds, they’ll never get you anywhere, never make you free of your sin debt.
